About our Bath Filler

Info:

Traditional bath filler taps epitomise the classical bathroom. The format originates from the late 19th Century where fitted bath tubs were starting to become popular in grand residences. Early manufacturers adopted a style with a rounded ‘ball-joint’ look. The inspiration for this design is not known, however, it echoes the look of industrial valves and their handles. Such was the popularity of this format that the basic design was copied all over the western world. However, the original bath filler taps remained in a bare brass condition. This, as we all know, will tarnish very quickly. From the mid 1920’s chrome plating was being developed and the bathroom industry was an ‘early adopter’. Henceforth, the fashion moved away from bare brass and chrome plating became the norm. Moving to the modern day, the basic design hasn’t really changed. Correspondingly, the taps are still cast from high quality brass and polished by hand. Chrome plating is applied to a modern specification and ceramic quarter-turn valves are fitted. Another key point you can see with our taps, is that we’ve been careful to faithfully replicate the original designs. We also made sure that only high quality brass is used together with the best possible valves. Choose from either deck mounting or, alternatively the wall mounted version. All fittings are standard 3/4″ BSP (British Standard Pipe) for ease of installation. All items can be purchased directly on our website or added to your Wish List. If you need any technical help or advice, give us an old fashioned telephone call 01255 831605.
