Warranty & Guarantee

Our promise

At Albion Bath we handcraft each enamelled bath with meticulous care using premium materials and ISO-standard enamelling. We stand behind the quality of our products — every Albion Bath comes with a standard 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Register your purchase within 14 days of delivery and we’ll extend that protection to a 5-year guarantee.

What the warranty / guarantee covers

We will, at our discretion, repair or replace any Albion Bath that shows defects in materials or workmanship under normal domestic use during the warranty/guarantee period. Examples of covered issues include:

  • Cracking, splitting or structural failure of the bath shell due to manufacturing faults.
  • Defects in the ISO enamel finish that are demonstrably caused by manufacturing or enamel application (not wear).
  • Faulty factory-fitted components that are supplied as part of the bath unit.

If we determine the fault is covered we will arrange — depending on the case — a repair, replacement or refund in line with consumer law and the nature of the defect.

What is not covered

The warranty/guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation (including but not limited to inadequate support, incorrect plumbing or using non-compatible fixtures). Installation must comply with the fitting instructions we supply.
  • Normal wear and tear — minor surface scratches, scuffs, or fading that occur during normal use.
  • Accidental damage or misuse, including impacts, improper cleaning methods or use of abrasive or corrosive cleaners.
  • Changes due to site conditions (e.g. movement in substrate, extreme humidity, chemical exposure).
  • Decorative components or third-party fittings fitted after purchase by others (taps, screens, third-party accessories) unless supplied by Albion Bath and fitted by us.
  • Issues arising after modification of the product (cutting, resizing, drilling, or refinishing).
  • Transport damage must be reported to the carrier on delivery and to us within 48 hours (see “How to report” below).
  • Any defect for which no proof of purchase / delivery or registration (if claiming extended guarantee) can be supplied.

Extended 5-Year Guarantee — how to qualify

To receive the extended 5-year guarantee, register your bath within 14 days of delivery. Registration is quick — you’ll need:

  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • Product model and serial number (if supplied)
  • Delivery date and delivery address
  • Your name, email and telephone number

We’ll confirm registration by email and include the full guarantee certificate. If you do not register within 14 days the standard 1-year warranty still applies.

How to make a claim

  1. Gather information — order number, delivery date, photos showing the defect, a short description and the installation company contact (if applicable).
  2. Contact Albion Bath — email: info@albionbathco.com or call 01255 831605 — include photos and proof of purchase.
  3. We will acknowledge your claim within 48 hours and advise next steps (inspection, remote assessment, or site visit).
  4. If an on-site inspection is required we will arrange a mutually convenient time.
  5. Where a defect is confirmed and covered, we will agree repair or replacement and cover reasonable costs where applicable.

Remedies and timescales

  • For covered defects we will aim to repair within a reasonable period. If a repair is not practicable, we will offer a replacement or refund in accordance with consumer rights.
  • If parts are required we will order and fit them as soon as they are available. Albion Bath is not responsible for delays caused by third-party suppliers beyond our reasonable control.

Installation & aftercare — keep your guarantee valid

To keep your warranty/guarantee valid, please ensure:

  • The bath is installed by a competent fitter in accordance with our installation instructions. Keep the fitter’s details and installation invoice.
  • You use cleaning products recommended in our aftercare guide. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemical removers or high-abrasion pads.
  • You keep proof of purchase and, where applicable, your registration confirmation.

Transport & delivery damage

Inspect the bath on delivery. If there is visible damage:

  • Refuse the delivery or note the damage and sign the carrier’s paperwork as damaged.
  • Take photographs of the packaging and the bath immediately.
  • Contact Albion Bath within 48 hours of delivery with photos and delivery details.

Failure to report transport damage within 48 hours may affect your claim.

Legal rights

This warranty/guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer (such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Nothing in these terms affects your rights under applicable consumer protection law.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to process a claim?

We will acknowledge your claim within 48 hours. Depending on the required action (remote assessment, parts, site visit) most straightforward claims are resolved within 14 days. If replacement parts are delayed we will keep you informed.

Can I transfer the guarantee if I sell the property?

The guarantee applies to the original purchaser and the installation address supplied at registration. Please contact us to discuss transferability on a case-by-case basis.

My bath has small scratches — is that covered?

Minor surface scratching from normal use is considered wear and tear and is not covered. Deeper scratches caused during manufacturing may be covered — please send photos and your proof of purchase for assessment.

Do I need to keep the original packaging?

It’s advisable to keep packaging for storage or transport where possible. For transport damage claims, photos of packaging and the damaged product are essential.
